Antioch University Seattle, WA:
Art and Drama Therapy in India Antioch University Seattle’s graduate psychology program was a looking for a a way to increase cultural competency and provide an international learning opportunity for candidates in their master’s level art and drama therapy program. AUS turned to Alyssa to create a dynamic, affordable, service-learning based trip to India, which focused on issues facing Tibetan refugees living there. The three week trip provided students and University faculty with the unique opportunity to stay with local families, engage in art and theater opportunities with local student groups, engage in lectures and dialogues with experts in art, spirituality, and psychological treatment methods relevant to the Antioch groups course of study. Far from a sightseeing tour of India, this incredible group of travelers worked hand in hand with our partner organizations to create a community of mutual learning, healing, and appreciation. |
Here’s what some of our travelers have to say about their experience: "The overall structure of the program possessed every component that I was searching for in my “dream” study abroad, thus why I chose this service-learning trip. From the very first planning meetings I felt very much included by the program leaders, professors and students who helped to make me feel welcome and a part of the group. " AUS trip participant |
