EBB & FLOW HENNA AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

Picture
For the best results, keep the paste on the skin for as long as possible; 4-8 hours is optimal.
  • Henna generally lasts for 2 days to 2 weeks, depending on how well you take care of your new design.
  • To remove the paste, flake off the dried henna with your hand. If the paste is difficult to remove, moisten skin with lemon juice or olive oil and gently rub off the excess.
  • Do not use water to remove the paste and avoid water on the stain for the first 12 hours if possible, as water will prevent the henna stain from darkening.
  • Apply a coat of Ebb & Flow Aftercare Balm to your design to protect the design before bathing or swimming.  In a pinch, olive or coconut oil will also work.
  • Your henna design will be a bright yellow-orange color when the paste is and will oxidize and darken into a deep reddish-brown over the next 2 days.
  • Frequent washing, soaps, chlorine, shaving, sunscreen, Vaseline, and exfoliation will cause the design to fade more quickly.

*Alyssa always uses all natural henna. “Black henna” and other chemically based henna products contain PPD and are not safe.
